The Geopolitics and Security Studies Center, together with its partners at the European Policy Institute in Kyiv (EPIK), held a roundtable discussion on how the Baltic States should prepare for a potential Russian military build-up and possible escalation on NATO’s Eastern Flank.

The discussion focused on how the Baltic States could strengthen their defence preparedness, regional resilience, and ability to respond to potential Russian actions. Participants also discussed Ukraine’s role in strengthening the security of NATO’s Eastern Flank, the relevance of the experience Ukraine has gained during the war, and opportunities to more closely integrate Ukrainian expertise and practical knowledge into broader regional security planning.

The roundtable was opened by Matteo Mecacci, Director of EPIK, who welcomed the participants and delivered opening remarks. Alongside the Center’s Associate Expert, Retired Colonel Gintaras Bagdonas, the discussion brought together representatives of various Ukrainian think tanks, as well as security and defence experts. The event was moderated by EPIK Policy Fellow Lesia Bidochko.
