What are we looking for?
The internship at GSSC exceeded all my expectations and left an exceptionally positive impression. I particularly enjoyed the number and variety of events, the opportunity to hear up close the views of experts and politicians from different fields, to talk with them, and to take part in discussions. Communication with the GSSC team was also extremely smooth, and the internship was flexibly coordinated with my studies. I believe it would be difficult to find a better foundation for a career in analytical research or politics.
My internship at the GSSC provided a unique vantage point on the role that think tanks play at the intersection of academia and global policy. Through my research projects and the center's diverse events programming, I moved beyond the classroom to analyze Lithuania's evolving role in the EU and the challenges facing the country today. It was an incredibly rewarding experience that broadened my geopolitical horizons and provided me with essential insights that I can apply to my academic and professional career.
"I deepened my knowledge of the approaches developed by the EU and EaP countries to address hybrid threats and how the EU is developing its neighbourhood policy. These experiences were very useful for the development of my PhD project as they helped me to understand which the major obstacles encountered by the EU and its member states in dealing with hybrid threats"
"I was able to be involved in conference and research preparation, which was an excellent way to tie together my academic career with real world issues that our world is facing and will face into the future. Working in the realm of policy analysis within the Baltic region is full of complicating factors, and I gained critical tools for research and writing through my work with the GSSC."
