Participants of the Heinrich Böll Stiftung study visit to the Baltic states visited the Geopolitics and Security Studies Center. The group included journalists from Poland, Germany, Italy, and Greece.
The visit focused on disinformation, propaganda, social media, and societal resilience. The journalists discussed these issues with communications expert Mykolas Katkus, disinformation expert Dr. Nerijus Maliukevičius, and Dr. Mantas Martišius, Vice-President of the Advisory Board at GSSC. The event was moderated by Dr. Juljan Jachovič, GSSC Chief Project Officer (CPO).
The meeting addressed key challenges faced by European states targeted by disinformation campaigns. The discussion also covered developments in international politics and electoral processes, the role of social media in the information space, and the importance of the media in identifying information manipulation.
