During Lithuanian Davos, GSSC organised a discussion titled “A New World Order: Should We Fear Change?”
The discussion featured Audra Plepytė, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania and Ambassador of Lithuania to the United States and Mexico in 2021–2025; Albinas Januška, diplomat and signatory of the Act of the Re-Establishment of the State of Lithuania; Vytautas Leškevičius, Senior Policy Analyst at GSSC; and Vida Mačikėnaitė, lecturer at the International University of Japan.
The discussion was moderated by Simona Merkinaitė, Senior Area Manager at GSSC.
The discussion addressed international institutions, internal changes in Western states, and the rise of new powers transforming the status quo. It also raised the question of what shapes the international order, how it can be maintained, and what Lithuania’s strategy should be in the context of these changes.
