Today, December 18, the Geopolitics and Security Studies Center hosted the final event of the year – a discussion titled “Lithuania and the United States: What Do the Next Three Years Hold?”, featuring Tomas Janeliūnas, GSSC Associate Expert, and Vytautas Leškevičius, GSSC Senior Policy Analyst.
The discussion addressed potential changes in the U.S. role in Europe and their long-term implications for Euro-Atlantic security. Participants explored how shifting U.S. strategy could affect transatlantic relations, NATO and EU political and military mechanisms, as well as Europe’s readiness to assume greater responsibility for the continent’s security and resilience.
The discussion also examined proposals aimed at increasing Lithuania’s and the region’s attractiveness for stronger and more sustainable U.S. military and economic engagement, alongside opportunities to build synergies between the United States and European partners.
We thank the speakers and the audience for their active engagement and a meaningful discussion.
