Presentation of the study “How Transatlantic Policy Shifts Affect Lithuania”

During an event organized by the Geopolitics and Security Studies Centre (GSSC) to present its study “How Transatlantic Policy Shifts Affect Lithuania”, the dynamics of the United States’ posture in Europe and the development of U.S.–Lithuania relations under conditions of increased geopolitical uncertainty were discussed.

The discussion featured insights from Prof. Tomas Janeliūnas, Dr. Vaidotas Urbelis, and GSSC Director Linas Kojala, and was moderated by GSSC Senior Policy Analyst Vytautas Leškevičius.

The event presented the results of a scenario-based simulation conducted by the U.S. strategic forecasting technology company Anadyr Horizon, focusing on security and defence issues relevant to Lithuania.

The discussion also examined the impact of developments in U.S. transatlantic policy on Lithuania’s “hard” and “soft” security, as well as questions related to deterring Russia on NATO’s northeastern flank. The conversation further addressed opportunities to expand broader Lithuanian–U.S. economic and technological cooperation and to strengthen joint action in the international arena.
