On April 9, a conference titled “Shared Values, Shared Security: The Nordic–Baltic Partnership at 35 and the Path Forward” took place in Vilnius, organized by the Geopolitics and Security Studies Center in cooperation with the Nordic Council of Ministers Office in Lithuania. The event focused on the development of Nordic–Baltic cooperation, its significance for regional security, and future directions for collaboration. The conference also marked the 35th anniversary of the Nordic Council of Ministers Office in Lithuania.
The conference brought together high-level guests from Nordic and Baltic countries, including H.E. President Dalia Grybauskaitė, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Kęstutis Budrys, Secretary General of the Nordic Council of Ministers Karen Ellemann, President of the Nordic Council Ville Väyrynen, Ambassador of Lithuania to Sweden Linas Linkevičius, as well as experts from Lithuania, Latvia, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, and Greenland. The discussion between Kęstutis Budrys and Ville Väyrynen was moderated by the Director of the Center, Linas Kojala. Guests were also addressed by the President of the Center’s Advisory Board, Elisabeth Bauer.
The discussions explored how to strengthen Nordic–Baltic cooperation in a changing geopolitical environment, highlighting the strategic importance of the partnership and opportunities to enhance regional resilience.
